It seems like every day there are more and more classic bikes on the road. Where once we would keep them hidden away in our garages, thanks to Craigslist, we can sell them and get them back out on the street. In 1989, I had just joined the Navy and was sweating my ass off during a brutally hot summer in Great Lakes, Illinois for basic training. That was a particularly weird time in my life as I had absolutely no access to bicycles at all. We were barely allowed to leave the base. I remember seeing this exact Centurion in the bike shop when I finally went looking to buy a new one. I settled on a Univega instead and rode the crap out of it. O Nostalgia, where would my emotions be without you? At this point in my life, I could pick one of these up for a song, thinking that I had one-upped my old Univega. But I will leave that to the people who really need the transportation.
